TIME, MATTER AND FERMENTATION

The project is inspired by the beer fermentation process. Its concept draws from the warm palette of copper, amber and earthy tones, but also from what takes place inside the fermentation tanks: time, transformation and the continuous evolution of matter. This imagery is translated into the space through light, atmosphere and materiality.
Set within the historic Círculo Ecuestre, the project preserves the building’s original architecture as an integral part of the design. High ceilings, mouldings and ornamental details remain untouched and are unified under a copper-toned finish, allowing light to bathe the space in a warm, almost liquid atmosphere. Long linen curtains soften the scale of the room, while warm, subdued lighting recreates the intimate character of a bar centred around sharing a beer.

THE BAR EXPERIENCE

The collaboration with chef Nandu Jubany brings a gastronomic dimension to the project. The space is conceived around his way of cooking and sharing, understanding the bar as a place where beer, food and conversation naturally come together. For the occasion, Jubany created a tapa designed specifically to accompany the beer, celebrating local produce and a straightforward approach to cooking.
The bar becomes the focal point of the space. Crafted in polished stainless steel with warm reflections, its appearance constantly changes with the light and the movement of people. Reflections enhance the perception of depth and reinforce the dynamic character of the interior.

CRAFTSMANSHIP AND IDENTITY

Craftsmanship plays a central role in the project and reflects the studio’s approach to design. To commemorate Estrella Damm’s 150th anniversary, we collaborated with ceramic artist Polsceramic to create a collection of handcrafted bottles. Each piece is unique, celebrating the irregularity and expressive qualities of clay while recalling the organic movement of water and the forms generated during fermentation.
The result is a warm and welcoming interior where beer is interpreted through light, texture and materials. Architecture, craftsmanship and gastronomy come together to create a space that celebrates gathering, conversation and the culture of beer.
